Shimano Talica Single Speed Reels
Shimano Talica II Reels-
Shimano recognized the need for a small lever drag two speed reel. Hence
the development of the Shimano Talica II reel series. With the use of
small diameter super braid line, anglers have continually moved to smaller and
smaller reels, yet insist on chasing larger and larger gamefish.
Necessities for this style of fishing are smooth very powerful drag systems
that can handle the abuse of large game fish and the need to be able to cast a
small live bait a good distance away from the boat to get a bite. Shimano
took their HEG High Efficiency Gearing technology from their star drag reel line
and incorporated it into the Talica reels. The HEG gearing allows for fast
line retrieve speeds and incredible cranking power. Available in four
sizes the 8, 10, 12 & 16. The 8 and 12 are designed to fish 40-50# braid
and a 30-40# top shot developing up to 13#'s of drag at strike and a maximum
drag of 20#'s while maintaining freespool. The 12 and 16's are
perfect for 65-80# braid and a 60-80# top shot, with a strike drag of 22#'s and
a maximum drag of 40#'s Additional features include:
