Pakula Hot Head Lures- These hard head resin heads are a re-release of The Original Pakula® Lures. These are THE lures that made Pakula a world recognized leader in Big Game Fishing. Each lure is hand poured and hand polished in the same way the lures were originally made, and in the same time tested and proven shapes originally developed by Peter Pakula. This is not to say they are the SAME lures they used to be because they’re not. To put it quite simply, they’re even better because we are teaming them up with the latest color and flash enhancing additives. The Pakula Smoking Jo, is an impressive heavy tackle long corner lure. It has an impressive tight continuous action and long turbulent smoke trail. We have noticed that the statistics on this range of lures known as the Long Shots, have performed particularly well in in blue colour combinations. The exception to that is the Smoking Jo in the color Kona which has become one of the best producing lure of all time for large Striped Marlin in New Zealand waters and Monster Blue Marlin in many places around the globe. The ‘HotHead™’ Smoking Jo has been redesigned so that it will have a continuous action, doing away with the ‘flat spot’ the previous models suffered from. The statistics of the Evil Angel Smoking Jo are approaching the success of the Lumo Sprocket as a heavy tackle lure and with the latest modifications in design and skirt technology we won’t be surprised if it out fishes previous versions of the Pakula Sprocket! The Pakula Wombat is the short rigger lure. The action is an aggressive swimming with a very wide head shake and great sonic boom of a splash when it breathes then diving quite deep carrying with it a huge smoke trail. The Pakula Animal has gained its reputation on the long corner and is now designed to run on the long rigger as well. Its realistic head shaking swimming action and long bubble trail are a real pleasure to watch, until of course you get interrupted by the explosion when it gets eaten! When run on the long rigger use the Lumo colour. If you use the Animal as a long corner lure then you’ll probably already know all about the ‘Evil Animal’ which will now be even more lethal with the addition of the updated color, now called ‘Evil Angel’ Pakula Hot Head Lures Color Chart
The Pakula Bagwan 13" has been a well kept secret. This secret is about to be broken! The action is tight, with a long bubble trail. It is a shallow diver, spending more time at the surface than most other shapes. The Bagwan is a very stable lure that maintains its action regardless of conditions and positioning. The Pakula Rat is the short rigger and short corner lure. The action is an aggressive swimming with a wide head shake and great splash when it breathes. It will hug the water at all trolling speeds and will work fine in all weather conditions, including very rough conditions. The Pakula Sprocket is a legend, having been listed in the Marlin Magazine top 10 Lures of all time both times the survey has been done. This long rigger lure, particularly in the color Lumo, has accounted for a great many First Marlin captures, Tournament Wins and the largest fish of the season twice in Cairns. If you are only ever going to take one piece of advice from us then let it be “Run the Lumo Sprocket on the long rigger, and leave it there!” Around half of all the successes on Pakula Lures are with this lure in this position. It may not catch fish for a while, but when it starts working nothing else will come close. Its tight swimming action works in all conditions at any trolling speed. It is totally irresistible, especially now that the lure comes with the updated Lumo Skirts. Don’t leave home without a Lumo Sprocket! In fact you’ll more than likely need spares. The Pakula Small Sprocket, sometimes called Medium Sprocket, is a long rigger lure with a tight swimming action that will work in all conditions at any trolling speed. This family of lures has been responsible for a great many of the successes of Pakula lures in fact as Peter Pakula says: "always run one of the Sprocket family in Lumo colours, and never move it!". The Pakula Mouse is a short rigger lure that has no equal in this size. The most productive colours are Violeta, Frigate and Yakka. The action is aggressive and will hug the water at all trolling speeds and will work fine in all weather conditions. If your after fish that eat other fish they’ll love the Mouse! The Pakula Phantom is an incredibly effective game fishing Lure. Don’t judge it by it’s small size. It is a big fish lure that has won many Sailfish, Black Marlin and BIG Blue Marlin Tournaments. It is primarily a long, long rigger and is a legend lure on the shotgun. Its straight, tight swimming action will continue in any conditions at any speed. Even when the fishing has shut down the Phantom still performs its spell catching lots of fish in waters where no other lures or even live baits are working. The "mighty" Pakula Cockroach works well in all trolling positions, though it is primarily a ‘short position’. The Cockroach has an aggressive action that hugs the water at all trolling speeds and will work fine in all weather conditions.
