Shimano Regular Butterfly Jigs at Anglers Center®

Shimano Butterfly Jigs-  Developed in Japan in the early 90's for deep jigging Bluefin Tuna.  The tuna were holding deep because of commercial pressure, so the innovative fishermen developed a fast sinking lure that created a violent reactionary bite.  Shimano furthered the system with the development of a complete jigging system.  Trevala Rods, the Butterfly Jigs, the Long Butterfly Jigs, and the Shimano Torsa, Trinidad and Stella reels.  The jigs are most often rigged from the nose as shown below.  The hook rigs and rings are sold separately.  The split ring is rigged to the nose of the lure, then a solid ring is attached to the split ring.  The fabric loop on the hook rig is then attached to the solid ring.  Now available rigged with the recommended Owner Stinger Hooks and Heavy Duty Owner Rings.  Monster rigging available on heavier models, includes New Owner Monster Stinger Hooks and Heavy Duty Owner Rings.
