The Giant Humbolt Squid have returned to the waters off Southern California.  Monday some of the offshore banks were covered with these creatures.  Last night and during the day today they moved into the coastal areas.  Spots of daylight squid were up feeding on just about anything that hit the water.  As close as 2 miles from the harbor entrance to Newport Bay.  Sport boats are reporting them to be in the 5-20 pound range.
