DogHouse Cabo Report 1/14/2011

Mix bag small tunas in the 5-15 pound range anywhere from 11-55 miles on a south southwest heading , with a few nicer fish in the 20-35 range further east there eating the small Yo Zuri plugs (that I've had to repaint several times )  they get all the fish , small rapalas , J-hook rigged ballyhoos skirted with the smallest islanders, and very small hoochie chains , there's been a handful of Dorado around most we have caught have been on naked ballyhoo rigged on 80# leader with circles and there eating the longs, the beach has had quite a bit of sierras , white bonitos, skipjacks and small to med roosterfish , there has been a pretty steady pick on Yellowtail on the yo yo iron over the hard bottom out in front or up the beach on the pacific side , along with some nice Amberjacks , Marlin are very tough right now , there was a little pocket of fish pretty consistently just south and east of the Jaime Bank in that deep canyon just inside of the bank , mostly baiting tailers , there not eating lures at all , there has been a handful of swordies seen and one hooked but lost ,, Retreiver had a blue around 285 released a little over a week ago and another charter boat down here got an 850 blue off the tuna schools. -- Capt.
